STEP ONE:

The pieces of material that make up "taracea" are not inlaid into the surface one by one. We make mosaics.

Las piezas en los artículos no se pegan sobre la superficie una a una, sino que construimos mosaicos.

STEP TWO:

We take geometrical strips of the different materials we use.

Para ello creamos tiras geométricas de cada uno de los materiales que se utilizan.

STEP THREE:

Working from the center, we create mosaics in a block by sticking together the geometrical strips of the different materials.

Estas tiras las vamos encolando unas a otras con mucho cuidado. Siempre se encolan desde el centro y en capas completas de cada material.

STEP FOUR:

Great skill is needed to achieve perfect symmetry.

Es muy importante no cometer ningún fallo para que el resultado final sea simétrico.

STEP FIVE:

Once the block is finished we then cut wafer-thin slices and all mosaics are exactly the same. These are then glued to the surface of the articles allowing us to obtain perfect patterns.

Una vez acabado el bloque se cortan los mosaicos muy finos pero todos exactamente iguales.

STEP SIX:

These mosaics are used to create the designs of the different articles. Thanks to them are procured practically perfect geometric drawings.

Estos mosaicos se utilizan para crear los diseños de los diferentes artículos. Gracias a ellos se consiguen dibujos geométricos practicamente perfectos.

STEP SEVEN:

We employ a technique that was already in use in Granada in the XIV century.

Esta técnica ya se utilizaba en Granada en el siglo XIV.
